Who is Gianne Abbott?

Brazilian born and bred, Gianne believes she started dancing Samba when she was still inside her mother’s belly, following her family’s passion for the culture which allowed her to grow up amongst the Carnaval and Samba community.

Trained in Classical Ballet and Jazz from the age of 6 and working with a great variety of dance styles including Contemporary, Hip Hop, Dança de Salão (Brazilian Partnered Dance) and her biggest passion – Afro Brazilian Dances including, Samba – she has become one of the world’s most dynamic Sambistas, with a long track of accolades.

Queen of the Carnaval, at the age of 18 in her home town, Florianópolis;

Two times “Cidadã de Samba” (the best Samba Dancer) also in Florianópolis;

Top 10 of So You Think You Can Dance Australia;

Lead Dancer of the Off-Broadway production show Brazil!Brazil in New York;
